This abstract piece was very loosely based on a sketch of a flower. Each shape on the sketch was taken as a solid block and stitched heavily in a range of goldwork techniques, with no attempt at realism.

The central area is worked with areas of couched Japanese gold thread, iridescent sequins, and couched pearl purl. The surrounding design uses couched and threaded pearl and check purl, gold kid appliqué and beading.
