Ivy Wall

Inspired by ivy growing on a garden wall, this panel is loosely based on photographs taken by Ruth.

The ‘stone blocks’ of the wall are hand painted silk satin, padded with felt, and free machine embroidered around the edges in shades of grey and silver.

The ivy stems are machine couched yarns and wools, while the leaves, each made individually, are double thickness silk, free machine embroidered, trimmed to shape, and then hand applied to the background.

The back of the panel is covered in a dark plain fabric, with a cord for hanging.
