Apple Tree fire screen

This stylised apple tree design was adapted from a carved motif on a 19th century Arts and Crafts cabinet.

The embroidery was worked on organza before being cut out and applied to an ivory cotton velvet background fabric. This was then mounted in a custom-made wood fire screen, also designed by Ruth.
